What affects the scope

Adding a band mid-wall means removing a course of existing tile without damaging what stays, and matching the field tile around it, which is often discontinued. It is possible, but it is usually a conversation about whether the wall is being redone anyway.
Why does layout matter so much on a small accent?
Because there is nowhere to hide a cut. On a large floor a trimmed tile at the wall goes unnoticed, but a band that ends in a partial tile at a corner sits at eye level. Good accent work is mostly deciding where the full tiles land before any of it is set.
